Sorry that I haven't posted anything about my trip to Buenos Aires. I have been busy exploring the city, adjusting to living in a foreign country, and school. So far I love Buenos Aires and I'm adjusting well and learning to navigate around the city. When I first arrived I was staying in a hotel located in el Microcentro (downtown) waiting for everyone to arrive the next day. Once everyone arrived we split into groups and took a walking tour of the surrounding area. Later, we all walked to dinner in the pouring rain, which was definitely an interesting experience. The next two days were filled with orientations, a bus tour of the city, and a trip to a local estancia (ranch) outside the city. I didn't take any pictures of the Estancia but it was beautiful and the asado was delicious. When we returned to BA we were taken to our homestays and I lucked out because I live a couple blocks from school, so I can walk there and save money by not having to take public transportation everyday. I live with a wonderful lady named Graciela and another student from Pepperdine, who is studying at another University in BA. Graciela is awesome and prepares delicious food each day. I love her empanadas!! My first week of school went well and I am getting accustomed to Argentine Spanish and Universidad de Belgrano. This upcoming weekend is a long weekend in Argentina because it is a holiday so we get next Monday and Tuesday off so a couple of my friends and I are going to Mar del Plata to enjoy the playas (beaches) of Argentina and relax. ¡Chau!
